Something Borrowed

Chuck was filled with little quirks, quips, and one liners. Many of these were inserted and just flowed with the scene. Ironically, as we continue to rewatch, we are finding that many of these little tid bits were actually borrowed from somewhere else or even had hidden meaning. We’ve started a list of these oddities and will continue to add to it as we find them. You can also respond when you find one of these things and let us know when and where you found them. Once we verify the info we will make sure you get credit for your find. Once the list starts to grow we will attempt to keep it in chronological order. Let is know what you find. Happy Watching!

Did you know…..

All of the televisions in the Buy More will be showing something related to the plot of the episode you are watching.

Butterman, “The price of my freedom is 800 bucks, same as my ticket to Zihuatanejo. See you never. Enjoy hell.” Jeff, “Get busy living or get busy dying.” Lester, “True dat.”

Most of these lines are from the movie The Shawshank Redemption.

S3-03 Chuck versus the Angel de la Muerte

S4-10 Chuck versus the Leftovers

Mary Bartowski (Linda Hamilton) said to Chuck, “Come with me if you want to live.” The Irony here comes from the Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger) saying to Sarah Conner (Linda Hamilton) “Come with me if you want to live,” in the movie Terminator 2: Judgement Day.

S4-17 Chuck versus the First Bank of Evil

Chuck and Sarah enter the bank to rob it as a diversion. Sarah is dressed in wet leather, both Sarah and Chuck are wearing trench coats and sun glasses. Matrix Look Alikes

All hell breaks loose once they go through the metal detector.

Both are doing acrobatic flips and spins in order to avoid the security guards’ gunfire. Reminiscent of Neo (Keanu Reeves) and Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) entering the building to save Morpheus in the movie The Matrix.

As the diversionary robbery unfolds, Sarah, standing on the staircase yells as she is pointing her gun at a customer, “Get down on the ground before I blow your frickin head off!”

Reminiscent of Honey Bunny (Amanda Plummer) and Pumpkin (Tim Roth) robbing the diner in the movie Pulp Fiction when Honey Bunny yells, ” Any of you f***ing pr**ks move, and I’ll execute every mother***ing last one of ya!” Chuck even calls Sarah “Honey Bunny” in the scene. Chuck and Sarah have a casual conversation during the robbery much like Pumpkin and Honey Bunny did during their robbery.

S4-24 Chuck versus the Cliffhanger

As they pull away in the limo with Morgan driving, Chuck tells Morgan to put the partition up. Morgan responds with, “As you wish. As you wish.” This line was repeated multiple times by Cary Elwes, Robin Wright, and Peter Falk in The Princess Bride.

    • Thanks for the info. I made the connection for the things being posted here before seeing it on the IMDB site. The trick now is trying to remember where in the show I saw it so I can add it here. lol. Like I needed another reason to watch Chuck. Look forward to your comments during the 91 week rewatch.
